Welcome to the Junior Tax Auditor programme!
This programme is the second level of the Tax Auditor programme formerly the Inspector of Taxes programme.
The programme aims to build upon and reinforce the theory of tax administration imparted at level one through practical application and skill development. This will cultivate competent tax officers.
Please see below some important Guidance Notes, that should help in your preparation for the upcoming course.
The Junior Tax Auditor Training Programme will last for fourteen (14) weeks, from July 31 to November 2, inclusive of assessment time and will consist of in-person and virtual sessions.
Participants will attend virtual sessions, from 1 - 4pm every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday via the zoom platform and in-person sessions every Saturday from 9am - 12pm at the GRA Training room, GPO building. The first day of the programme will be in-person and last from 9am to 4pm.
The topics listed on the outline attached will be covered during the programme period and participants will be assessed on their understanding and application of these topics.
In addition to lecture sessions, participants will be divided into smaller groups for tutorial sessions. During tutorial sessions, participants will examine closed audit cases which will further elucidate relevant concepts and demonstrate the application of tax laws and regulations.
Participants will be required to complete at least three (3) coursework assessments and one final examination. Coursework will take the form of tests, individual and group assignments and will contribute forty percent (40%) to the overall final grade. The final examination will contribute sixty percent (60%) to the overall grade.
In order to be deemed successful, participants have to obtain a minimum overall final grade of seventy-five percent (75%).

Course materials will be provided via GRA’s Moodle Learning Management System, which candidates will be able to access using their respective credentials. Virtual lecture sessions will be recorded and uploaded to GRA’s Moodle Learning Management System at the end of each day.
